The YUMI collection is inspired by Japanese ceramics and the contemporary interpretation of Wabi Sabi, a Japanese aesthetic concept influenced by nature and based on the idea of finding beauty in the imperfect, in things that at first glance seem simple but have a timeless quality. The handmade ceramic pieces of the YUMI Collection were designed and produced with the same "perfect imperfection" in mind.
The collection consists of five pieces: a teacup, a small jug for soy sauce and bowls in three different sizes. They are made of a grey clay with a special colour and texture and glazed with a light stoneware glaze. In vivid light grey to brown, the glaze develops a different surface depending on how thickly it is applied, ranging from matt to glossy with a crackle effect. The lively surface makes each ceramic piece absolutely unique.
